Skibbereen Head of the River

On a perfect day for rowing (Saturday 19th Nov) at the National Rowing Centre in Farran Woods our 22 entered crews ejoyed some excellent racing.    A number of juniors had their first competitive row and our novice women had their maiden outings in a quad four and a double.   All showed great potential for the coming season.
Pride of place goes to our pennant winners.   Our Women's Junior 18 4X- (coxless quad) crew of Saorise Horgan, Laura Coleman, Roisin Merz and Holly Lingwood showed that all the hard training of the past two months was paying off when they won their event ahead of Skibbereen, Muckross and Cork Boat Club.    Andy Harrington came in at the head of a big field in the Men's Junior 16 sculls and Karen Corcoran-O'Hare won the Women's Intermediate Sculls.
